The Katahdin Valley Outfitters offer two trophy Maine Black Bear Hunts:

1. Black Bear Hunt over active Bait:
The Katahdin Valley Outfitters bait in a very bear rich area. Old established bait sites surrounded by hardwood and lakes and stands placed in the dark softwood bottoms are very productive.

We enjoy a 44,000 acre block of hunting territory which we hunt exclusively. This is an area that has produced many trophy Maine Black Bear over the years and will continue to produce with our good Bear management practices. We have many sites and enjoy a very high success rate EVERY year. We place a great emphasis on our bait, buying commercial Bear bait that WORKS. We also are very particular with every one of our Bear bait set-ups. The Bear hunter will not be confined to just one site. At our discretion the hunter will be placed on another site if we feel the bait has gone dead for some reason or another. Your success is our success. We feel we are one of the top Bear producing percentage wise Bear Camps in the State of Maine.

We offer two packages for Black Bear hunting with hounds:

1. A complete 6 day hunt with our hounds. Our 30+ years of big game breeding has resulted in many successful Trophy Black Bear hunts. We use the latest in tracking telemetry with our hounds and constant radio contact with our hunters to help you harvest your Black Bear Trophy.  Our hunting integrity contributes to your success and your success is our reward.

2. A complete 6 day hunt with your hounds. This includes the use of our camp (sleeps 8)  and guide services and our active bait areas.
